Duzce Cam, established in recent years, has grown to become Turkey’s second-largest flat glass manufacturer. Over the past decade, it commissioned two float glass lines, relying heavily on European technology and equipment to serve architectural and automotive markets, with standards benchmarked to Europe. Seeking to expand into the fast-growing solar sector, Duzce Cam needed a large-scale solar glass line to support its transformation into new energy manufacturing.
In 2018, our international team initiated discussions with Duzce Cam. After two years of negotiations, a contract was signed for a 300 t/d ultra-clear rolled photovoltaic solar glass production line. By June 2024, the line was successfully ignited, marking Duzce Cam’s entry into the solar glass market and establishing it as the operator of Turkey’s largest solar glass production line.
In 2025, as market demand shifted, Duzce Cam aimed to convert its stable 3.2 mm ultra-clear rolled solar glass production into the ones with thickness of only 2.0 mm. The company turned again to BBKS for technical support. A joint effort between our technical team and Duzce Cam’s on-site staff worked intensively for one month, reducing edge loss to 6.5% and achieving a yield of 88.08%, enabling stable mass production that met all technical requirements.
The project not only helped Duzce Cam achieve a successful transformation from traditional manufacturing to solar glass production but also set a new benchmark in the Turkish market. With the new line, they strengthened their competitiveness and secured long-term growth opportunities. Duzce Cam expressed sincere appreciation for the technical support provided and reached a strategic consensus with BBKS to deepen cooperation in the development of Turkey’s glass market.
