CNBM Group and KCC Group, South Korea’s largest building materials manufacturer, invested in a large-scale float glass project in Batang Industrial Park, Central Java, Indonesia. The company aimed to establish a 1,200 t/d high-end float glass line to serve both domestic and regional markets. Traditionally, such large projects relied on European technology and suppliers, who held a dominant position in this sector. KCC required a solution that could deliver world-class quality while reducing costs and shortening the construction timeline.
In 2023, our parent group signed a contract with KCC Group for the project, providing end-to-end services from R&D and engineering design to equipment manufacturing, installation, commissioning, and environmental management. This full-process model ensured a closed-loop service chain, compressing the project construction cycle by 35% and reducing overall costs by 30%, while ensuring both reliability and high performance.
On October 3, 2024, the production line achieved a successful first ignition, and just 27 days later, the first batch of glass was produced. All technical indicators exceeded expectations, proving the strength of the solution.
The new float glass factory, with a daily production capacity of 1,200 tons, became one of the most advanced and efficient facilities in the region. Its output is significant enough to supply glass for projects on the scale of the 128-story Shanghai Tower’s entire façade. By combining cost efficiency with reliable performance, BBKS helped KCC break the longstanding dominance of European enterprises in this field and secure a stronger foothold in the global glass industry.
