Glass Roller Conveyor
Roll conveyors used in flat glass production line for transferring glass sheets between various glass processing stations
The glass conveyor system forms a core part of the flat glass production line, designed to ensure smooth and reliable transfer of raw glass sheets between different glass production stations. It can be equipped with various turning and auxiliary conveyors according to process requirements. When defective glass sheets appear, the rejection system conveyor automatically directs them into the glass crushing unit for safe disposal.
- Main conveyor types: mainline conveyors, branch conveyors
- Support structure: available in two-, three-, or four-point designs
- Roller types: coarse rollers and fine rollers (rubber ring rollers / rubber wheel rollers)
- Roller diameters: 150/108 mm, 150/114 mm, etc.
- Roller spacing: 500/400 mm, 300/250/200 mm, cutting zone 148 mm
- Roller speed: Standard conveying speed: Max >1000
High-speed sections: Max 3600 / 4800 / 5400 - Drive system: variable frequency and servo drive options
The conveyor system includes various turning conveyors, designed to adapt to the cold end layout, glass cycle time, sheet specifications, and production line configuration. Their role is to change the direction of glass sheets without interrupting the mainline flow, ensuring smooth and reliable production.
- Downswing transfer conveyor
Suitable for layouts with multiple branch lines, offers the highest flexibility, ideal for production lines where the glass cycle time is under 6 seconds. - Interchange transfer conveyor
Installed on the mainline and equipped with an underpass function, allowing glass sheets to pass beneath during turning. Ensures uninterrupted flow on the main conveyor, best suited for production lines with glass cycle times over 6 seconds. - Wheel turn conveyor
Usually installed on branch lines or on mainlines with glass cycle times over 12 seconds, provides turning capability but does not include underpass functionality, effective for specific layouts where simpler turning is sufficient.
The glass handling station with reject system functions as part of the conveyor during normal operation, transferring glass sheets to the next stage. When defective sheets are detected, the drop table tilts downwards via pneumatic actuation, guiding the rejected glass into the crushing system.
- Double sheet drop conveyor
Handles central and certain offset splits, common in simple float glass and narrow rolled glass lines. - Piano drop conveyor (segmented transfer conveyor)
Automated control enables sectional drop according to cutting needs, available in pneumatic and electric versions, ideal for lines producing automotive glass, mirror glass, or multiple sheet types. - Combined drop conveyor (Dual-sheet + Swing-arm)
Provides flexible handling of central and offset splits, generally used on production lines with longitudinal optimization features.
